Our Juiz de Fora smelter, which is wholly owned by Nexa Brazil, is located in Brazil and began operating in 1980. This smelter uses Roast-Leach-Electrowinning and Waelz Furnace technologies. With a nominal production capacity of 96.9 thousand tonnes per year, Juiz de Fora produced 82.1 thousand tonnes of zinc metal in 2023 and 84.2 thousand tonnes in 2022. In 2023, Juiz de Fora consumed 41.7% of zinc contained in concentrates from our mines, 41.8% of zinc contained in concentrates from third parties and 16.5% from secondary raw material.
